About Us

Plotless Pictures is an independent film production company consisting of an all-amateur cast and crew. Everybody involved in Plotless projects have done it in their spare time, or made spare time when they did not have it available to them. We are not professional actors, writers or directors. We are bankers, doctors, UPS workers, electricians, teachers, (to name a few) who hold the belief that if Hollywood can spend millions of dollars on a terrible film, then why can't we do the same with far less investment and a lot more fun?

It takes a lot of work and considerable amounts of time, but when it's all said and done, (as well as during the production) we wouldn't have it any other way.

Plotless Pictures was originally created by three people: Amanda Santos, Erik Young, and Jaysen Dunnavant. The company name was Erik's creation, and the stories were Jaysen's. Being a three person crew, Amanda became the obvious lead actress. As our little company’s stories got larger and more in depth, it became obvious that we would need to evolve.

Jaysen soon incorporated the company while completing stories and casting for various projects. In 2004, the team completed their first feature film, OPERATION: DREAMWORLD which had two public showings and a lot of fun had by all who were involved in the making. The film was finished with a budget of $1,500 and 32 volunteer actors.
While finishing the edits, Jaysen had a vision that would become his next feature project. A film that would take two years to complete. A film where, thanks to DREAMWORLD Jaysen would hand-pick who he thought were the best actors available to him for a vision he believed in. Having learned from DREAMWORLD, Jaysen wanted to have a complete script ready before the new film began.

Then, as luck would have it, Jaysen separated his shoulder in a freak Frisbee accident, spending the five-week road to recovery sitting in front of a laptop computer, filling in the holes, and completing his story. The following year would be spent capturing the scenes on film and late night editing. Jaysen fired himself from acting all together.

The film, now complete, is STILL the vision Jaysen had two years before, something directors rarely see.

And now we’re off to the next pointless adventure . . . we hope you come along for the ride.
